How do I send an announcement to tenants on a community page?
Open Community and create a page such as Oakwood Apartments or Toledo portfolio. An apartment complex is one property: selecting it includes all its units and current tenants, without choosing individual units. Use Selected properties for one complex or a group; search by name, address or city, and change the selection in Settings anytime. The owner can choose All properties, including future additions to include the entire portfolio across all cities automatically. A city in the page name does not filter that audience. A property can belong to several pages, and its current tenants see each page and its post history.
When you publish, every tenant on the page who has a PropertyFolio account gets an in-app notification and, on the mobile app, a push. Tenants you invited who have not registered yet are counted as not registered in the audience preview and receive nothing until they sign up. A tenant who mutes the page still sees your posts but is not notified.
Choose a kind for each post. Announcements and events are ordinary notices; an alert is for urgent notices like a water shut-off - it is delivered right away, even during a tenant's quiet hours. You can schedule a post for a later date and set an expiry date after which it leaves tenants' feeds. Add up to 10 images or PDF flyers; each image needs a short alt text so tenants using a screen reader know what it shows, or mark it decorative. Put the essentials - what, when, where - in the body text, not only in the image.
Before a post publishes, PropertyFolio checks its wording for phrases that could read as excluding a protected group - families with children, a religion or nationality, a disability, and similar. Fair housing law applies to what a landlord says to tenants, so the check warns you and explains why. You can rewrite the post or publish it anyway, and your choice is recorded with the post.
The company uses the landlord account as its portfolio owner and community admin. Landlords and managers with full access can manage selected-property pages. Only the owner can enable or change the audience of an all-properties page; switch it to Selected properties to exclude a complex. A maintenance-only manager can post but cannot change page properties. The Free plan includes 1 page, Starter includes 3, and Growth and above are unlimited.
